I dunno. Maybe their stuffing is laced with pheromones?

    It's a nation-wide conspiracy.

Okay, so the Felicity Movie was on TV tonight, as you all are well aware! I, being in Canada without satellite TV, don't get the WB. So imagine my surprise when I see in the TV listings in the paper today: "Felicity: An American Girl Adventure"!!!

It is being shown on a Fox station out of Burlington, VT, that some people with cable can get here in Montreal! Unfortunately, my cable provider doesn't provide me with Fox, so I quickly think of anyone I know who has better cable than I do. I come up with two people, one I can't get a hold of, and the other... yes, she's willing to tape it,

but wait, isn't tonight Gilmore Girls night, and it's on at the same time as the movie?!!! Gilmore Girls is shown on a separate channel here in Canada and she can't tape one channel while watching the other channel.

Frantic, I look up the tv guide and discover that GG is a rerun (on that Canadian channel) tonight, and after assuring her numerous times that she does not need to see this particular episode being re-run, she finally agrees to tape Felicity.

Next, she says she needs a blank tape. Well, I'm not home and to go home to get a tape would take too long and be going way out of the way. So I walk (in the rain, mind you), to a store to buy a tape. It's closed because it's after 7 pm. I walk to another store. Find an overpriced cassette tape (who USES them anymore, anyways?!) Wait in line. Rude cashier. (why do guys in electronics stores look down their noses and scoff and ignore female customers?! I know more about technology than the vast majority of my male friends!!!) I buy the tape. Walk uphill, 6 blocks in the dark rain at 8 pm when I should be studying, to my friend's apartment to deliver the brand-new tape.

    *phew*

Mission accomplished... almost. Tomorrow morning after my class I have to go to the building where she has class, wait for her for *** knows how long, and then pick it up from her. That is, if she remembers to bring it.

Oh, did I mention I had to explain why I had such a desire for a made-for-tv movie about an "American Girl" (I had to explain the novel concept of AG to her, since she's Bermudian) that I was willing to walk 6 blocks uphill in the rain when I should be studying in order to deliver the tape to her? And why I HAD to have it to watch tomorrow night instead of waiting until I see her on Friday to get the tape?

American Girl is an addiction, people. An addiction.

Oh I feel so sorry that you had to go through all that just to get it taped. (I used to get CBC in NH before my dad got Directv- I used to watch Emily of New Moon when it came in '98.) I hope you get the movie tomorrow!

I know what you mean. It is an addiction. You can't get over it, no matter how you try. Do AG's have some kind of drug in them?

Re: AG drug. Well, let's see... they make me feel dizzy, lightheaded, lose all reasonable thought processes, then I even go through the remorse/regret stage afterwards when I check my bank account statement... yup, they definitely contain something. "AG dolls: now laced with complimentary pheromones!" No wonder AGP is always so busy!

Sadly, no AG movie today. I'll get it on Friday.
